O

Odds: The probability of making a particular hand.

Off suit: Cards of different suits.

Omaha: A game in which each player is dealt four down cards with five community cards. To make your hand, you must play two cards from your hand and three from the board, making the best possible five-card hand.

Open: Making the first bet.

Open-Ended Straight: Having four consecutive cards and needing one more at the top or bottom of the series to complete a straight.

Opener: A player who makes the first bet.

Open Card: A card dealt face up.

Open Pair: A pair dealt face up.

Option: When a player is in on live blind, they have the option raise.

Out: A live card that will improve your hand, usually referred to a card that will give you a winning hand.

Out Button: A disc placed in front of a player who wishes to sit out a hand, but remain in the game.

Out Draw: Making a better hand then your opponent by catching cards.

Overcall: An additional call after a bet is initially called.

Over card: A card in the hole higher then the cards on board.

Over pair: Hole cards higher then the cards or pair on the board.
